The Security Problem

The invasion of the House of Commons by some of the delightful people in favour of maintaining their right to hunt raises an interesting point about House of Commons security, never mind the rights and wrongs of their case. Peter Hain and co. are convinced that this sort of thing must never be allowed to happen again. They are, of course, quite right: if the threat of a ban on hunting were to be lifted, it’s a certainty that the House would never be invaded again. So let’s drop this nonsense about banning hunting, shall we?

Mind you, I think that Bryan Ferry, himself redolent of a Scottish steamer company (MacBrayne Ferry), has inadvertently undermined the protest by having saddled his son Otis Ferry with the names of both a lift and a steamer.
