Great Germans

I see that the Germans are having their own 'Greatest Germans' vote. They are excluding Hitler, a Nazi of some note, I believe.

Our 'vote' was marred by idiocy. We too should have had exclusions: no-one from the twentieth century should have been eligible. This would have stopped the consideration of nonentities like Lennon and Diana and excluded Churchill - his legacy is by no means certain.

Accordingly, my 'German' list would include Frederick the Great, Martin Luther, Goethe, and, of course, Mozart & Beethoven. Personally, I think I'd vote for Mozart. It's a shame he didn't qualify for our 'list'.
