The ultimate oxymoron

Well, here I am, perusing the opera programme for the summer. Glyndebourne looks interesting but my attention is drawn to Garsington, too:
Self: How about Die Schweigsame Frau?

The Lady: Who's that by?

Self: Richard Strauss. You know, the bloke who wrote Also Sprach Zarathustra and Der Rosenkavalier (oops, I nearly wrote Der Rosenklavier).

The Lady: (for her German pronunciation is excellent) What does 'Die Schweigsame Frau' mean? Something about a woman, I'll be bound.
Self: Oh, it means 'The Silent Woman'. The ultimate oxymoron, I'd say.
These bruises will last for ages.
