Iain Duncan Smith's statement today

IDS said today, at an extremely brief press conference, little more than one sentence long, that the Conservative Party must 'unite or die'.

This puts me in mind of the Labour Party manifesto for the 1983 election. This document was later described as 'the longest suicide note in history'.

Could we consider IDS's contribution today as an attempt at the shortest suicide note in history?
