The Gibraltar referendum
The referendum held this week by the people of Gibraltar about staying British produced the following result
17,900 in favour of staying Britishbased on a 90% turnout. When you compare this with the results of the previous referendum, when only 44 people were in favour of the Spanish connection, it looks as though there's recently been a big swing away from the British option.
When you further look at the figures, in the light of the 100% endorsement that Saddam Hussein got in a notably more difficult election, with a 100% turnout, one has to fear for the fate of 'The Rock' [no relation to P. Burrell - Ed].
What on earth do these silly Gibraltarians want? Can't they be more decisive?
